Donald Tye and Willie (Billie) Rosemond married in 1951 and believed in three things: God, growing homemade vegetables and food, and having children! Their desire to have a large-loving family came to life after having 9 kids and teaching each one the fundamentals of good food and good company. When the girls became of age, Willie would teach them the family sweet potato roll recipe and challenge them to make sure all ingredients were included, especially the family secret. After Don and Billie passed, the family wanted to continue their legacy by bringing sweet potato rolls and families together. Today, Sweet Potato Tye strives to give the world a warm comforting taste of what growing up as Tye truly was like.
